Callum Parkinson

Callum been running since 2012. He started running while playing for a local football team to improve his fitness and chance of playing. After spending 6 weeks on the bench playing just over 5 min, enough was enough. His concentration then shifted to running.

He joined Hyde Village Striders in October 2012. Running times had improved while at Striders, as he joined a complete novice. While at Hyde Village Striders he completed a LiRF course as there was no one in the club encouraging speed sessions. He ran the sessions while injured for just less than a year. From feedback, these were a great success and runners achieved some dramatic PBs for those who joined in the sessions. This was rewarding as he was able to give something back to the club and runners.

Callum left Hyde Village Striders for Salford Harriers in 2019. Then in late 2021, Callum joined East Cheshire Harriers, and he has been able to improve his times again with a structure of training, knowledge of training types as well as chasing some great runners in training.

BRING ON THE RACES AGAIN…

Away from running, Callum is married to Laura, and has two children, Alistair and Amber. Also has an old Staffy called Chesney (born on leap year day 2008). Callum works for an IT Consultancy firm and specialise in Windows Deployment and Cloud Platforms.
